engine --should not be finish honed till you have the pistons in HAND TO check ( mic.) and check them. rough bore -- rough pits how deep is the rust pit? bore to next .030" over bore. MACHINING NOTES: move cutter a little bit to correct for uneven wear in cylinders where rings wear on the thrust side (explosion side ) of bore.------ need to follow the wear pattern and take the least off the side with least wear ---and save the block for the min. amount of bore size increase. sometimes you can make .030 from standard bore. early blocks .040 w/ min. ridge ---- should rough bore the correct way = leaves .006 total to finish. leaves .006 " cleanup fact: the original GM factory engines are bored off center -QUITE OFTEN !
